TBL values and respects the importance of your privacy. That is why we strive to only send you emails and collect your information when we think that doing so improves your experience in using our Content. Information Collection and Use
A. Personally Identifiable Information: Collection
Personally identifiable information is data that can be used to contact or identify a single person. Through your own submissions—for donations, purchases, to set up a profile, or for submitting work—we collect your name, mailing address, e-mail address, and phone number, and other information you may choose to submit, including personal website addresses, social media handles or accounts, your gender, and a short biography.
B. Personally Identifiable Information: Use
The Content is designed to provide various services and outreach consistent with our operations. Personal information will be used or disclosed to facilitate those purposes, including processing your order of goods or services, displaying your public profile (if you choose to set one up), operating contests, and/or publishing your work. We will use your e-mail address for notices concerning our Content and operations (including our newsletter), updates and features, communications for administrative purposes, and any formal notices required by law.
C. Non-Personally Identifiable Information: Collection
Non-personally identifiable information includes general details about your computer and connection (including the type of computer/mobile device, operating system, web-browser or other software, language preference, and hardware), the referring website, the date and time of visit, and internet content provider information.
D. Non-Personally Identifiable Information: Use
We reserve the right to use non-personally identifiable information and behavior gathered from transaction activity, our server log files, or from surveys to perform research on how to make the Content better for our Users. This research includes accessing information through Google Analytics.
Protecting Personal Information
A. Access to Personal Information
Normally, only a limited number of our employees will see your personal information for the purposes of providing you our Content. We will only disclose personal information of Users to third parties when it is necessary to provide the Content, or if Users choose to do so in using the Content.
B. Important Disclosures
C. Use in the Event of Structural Change
In the event we engage in rebrand, reorganize, merge with, or are acquired by another company or entity, we reserve the right to transfer your information to that new operator without notice.
D. Do Not Track Signals
Some technologies, such as web browsers or mobile devices, provide a setting that when turned on sends a Do Not Track (DNT) signal when browsing a website or app. There is currently no common standard for DNT signals; we have not implemented any technology to acknowledge or respond to DNT signals.
E. Use by Minors
By using our website, each User confirms the User is either 18 years or older, or is accessing our Content with the express permission of an adult parent or guardian. To be clear, we do not intend our Content for children under the age of 13.
If you are a parent and your minor child has provided us personal information, you have the right to contact us and require that we: (a) permit you to review the personal information provided; and (b) remove and delete the personal information provided. To do so, upon you contacting us, we must take reasonable steps to confirm you are the parent.
Third Party Use and Waiver of Liability
A. Third Party Use of Information
We reserve the right to use and disseminate information to third parties in accordance with the provisions of this agreement.
B. Use of Third Party Payment Services
We use third-party payment services for financial transactions (currently, PayPal for donations and purchases and Submittable for contest submissions). Any information you share with those or other third-party services are subject to any terms of service, privacy policies, or other agreements with those third parties. Please review those policies to assure you wish to use those services under those terms. We have no control over those terms or how those third parties utilize, store, and protect your information.
C. Waiver of Liability
We are committed to protecting your privacy and limit our interactions to third parties that we have confidence will not misuse your information. However, we do not control those third parties. You agree that we are not responsible for any misuse of information by third parties, whether such misuse is through negligence, intentional misconduct, or any action or inaction by a third party or others.
D. Links to Third Parties
Our Content may link to or otherwise provide information from or about other websites, apps, and other third-party services. These other services may have privacy practices that differ from our own. Please note that we are not responsible for the actions of other providers or the accuracy of any information about those services or providers presented by us, the provider, or a third party. You are solely responsible for investigating those websites, apps, or other services, including their terms of service and privacy policies, to determine whether their services are right for you.
E. Information of Users
We do not have any control over the actions taken by Users. We are not responsible for the actions of Users, the nature or accuracy of the information the Users provide, or how Users use or disseminate that information.
A. No Unsolicited Personal Information Requests
We will never ask you for your personal information in an unsolicited letter, call, or e-mail. If you contact our User service representative, we will only use your personal information if necessary to fulfill a request by you.
C. Subject to Change
The security of our Content is important to us and use reasonable efforts to secure any information you provide to our systems. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, we do not and cannot guarantee your security. As with disclosure of any information electronically, there is a risk that any information you disclose by use of the Content could be collected or used by others. This could result in unsolicited messages from third parties or use of such information by third parties for their own purposes, legal or illegal. You hereby waive any claims against us and agree not to hold us liable for the theft or misuse of personal information.
