Beautiful and powerful work. Buttons and checkboxes, Jesus and the hubble telescope, cancer and nightmares; everything fits together so perfectly - as if finding some order in this mess of chaos is the only thing holding it all together.
The details in this piece are great, and the ending is both poignant and striking. Really nice work!
Love the checkboxes and the absence that their default setting makes me think of.
I loved the motif of things falling apart through this piece, and how it then moved into something deeper and more personal.
I also loved all of the different threads woven through this piece. I especially liked the point where people try to assign meaning to everything––but no one can ever actually know if there is any meaning or not.
Interesting experiment with an almost stream of consciousness style of writing. While the extended metaphors might upon first reading them seem unrelated or all over the place, the style of writing allows this because of the poignantly conversational tone. I really enjoyed this piece, it dealt with premeditated loss in an understated, heartbreaking way that I can easily relate to.
