I loved the prose. The descriptions were amazing, and I enjoyed the sound of the sentences. The family was characterized so well; they felt so real. There was this constant tense undertone that I could actually feel as I read, which made the ending so perfect, as she's hunkering down and thinking about asking for chai when everything's over. Amazing work, I'm looking forward to your novel!

Lovely work! This story has great tension, and I thought you deftly captured the complexity and nuances of human relationships.

I really enjoyed this piece. The mother's care and concern for her daughter felt very real.

This piece was incredibly well-written. The tension throughout the piece was palpable in various ways and the characters were all well-rounded. Really good job!
