TBL is pleased to announce our first annual Summer Short Story Competition. As of April 7th, we will be accepting short stories of any genre ranging from 2,000 to 7,500 words. TBL strives to publish writers with engaging stories, vivid characters, and fresh perspectives and styles of writing.
The winner will receive $250.00 USDA in prize money and will have his or her short story featured in the Spring Edition of Tethered by Letters Literary Journal. There is a $10.00 reading fee per entry. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please notify TBL if your work is selected for publication elsewhere as soon as possible. We encourage writers to submit as many stories as they wish. All stories will be considered for publication in our quarterly journal.

Deadline: June 30th, 2013. Midnight ET.
Awards: 1st prize receives $250.00 and publication as the featured short story in our Literary Journal. Five finalists will be considered for subsequent quarterly journal publications as well as our monthly short story selection. Each finalist will also receive free professional edits on their submission.
Submission fee: There is a $10.00 USDA entry fee for each submission.
Judging: All submissions will be judged by the professional editing team at TBL and the winner will be announced publicly in July, 2013. All participants will be notified about the contest results by email from TBL judges by July 15th, 2013. Judges decisions are final.
